What size opening does the TF-TD2-20-A need?

The cutout is 18 1/4" wide, 24 3/8" high, and 24 3/8" deep. The unit measures 20"W x 23.78"D x 27"H and is built for island openings from 20" to 24 7/8".

Two bins in one drawer, or two separate drawers?

One drawer carrying two bins. You pull the single 20" face and both bins come out together, which is what lets you separate trash from recycling without a second cutout.

Can I use it for a propane tank instead?

Yes. TrueFlame builds it to take trash, recyclables, or a propane tank, so a 20" run of island can change jobs later if your grill setup does.

Does it close quietly with two full bins in it?

The drawer is soft-close, so the weight does not translate into a slam. That is worth more on this unit than on a utensil drawer, since two loaded bins carry real momentum.

How rigid is it?

Double-walled construction throughout, in 304 stainless steel. The second wall is what keeps a 27" tall drawer front from flexing when it is loaded.

What does the front look like?

Hingeless 304 stainless with a flat modern handle, mounted flush so the drawer face lines up with the island. It wipes clean, which a trash drawer needs.

How does it compare to the narrow trash drawer?

This one takes a 20" to 24 7/8" opening and holds two bins; the 14" narrow trash drawer fits a 10" to 14 7/8" opening with a single bin. Pick by the width you have left in the island.
