Frequently Asked Questions
What size opening does the AXE-17 need?
A rough opening of 13 7/8 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches high.
Frame to that figure before the door arrives. The opening is the one dimension you cannot adjust afterwards.
It is sold as a 17-inch door but the opening is 13 7/8 inches. Which number do I build to?
The rough opening: 13 7/8 by 18 1/2. The 17 inches is the size the door is listed under, not the hole you cut.
Can I get the hinge on the other side?
Yes. The AXE-17 comes in left-hinge and right-hinge versions, so the door swings clear of whatever sits next to it.
What is a single access door actually for?
It closes off an opening in an outdoor kitchen island so the space behind it becomes usable storage for grill accessories, utensils and other kitchen items.
How does it differ from a door and drawer combo?
This is one door over one opening, with no drawer behind the face. If you want drawer storage in the same run of cabinetry, Alfresco's combination units put both into a single cutout.
Is it built to stay outside permanently?
Yes. It is stainless steel, specified for weather resistance and long-term outdoor installation.
Let customers speak for us
I absolutely love my Coyote gas grill! The quality is excellent, it looks beautiful, and I’m very happy with my purchase.
I also want to give a special thank you to Ryan at Northwoods Grills. He was incredibly helpful from the very beginning. Before my grill even arrived, he took the time to help me with measurements and answered all of my questions to make sure everything would fit properly. He was always very attentive, patient, friendly, and easy to communicate with. His customer service really made a difference and made the whole experience so much easier for me.
It’s not often that you receive this level of personal attention and customer service. I truly appreciate all of Ryan’s help and would absolutely recommend Northwoods Grills. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Best pricing available for the product (checked all other on line retailers), and Ryan provided excellent responsiveness during the sales process. Loved dealing directly with the owner vs a sales person.
Delivery was completed within a week of the order and Ryan stayed in touch with consistent follow-up to ensure the products met my expectations.
Will recommend to friends / others looking for a high-end built in grill and matching cabinets.
