What cutout does the AXE-23 need?
19 7/8 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches high. That is the opening to leave in the island.
How big is the door itself?
22 1/2 inches wide by 21 1/8 inches high overall. It is larger than the cutout on every side because the frame overlaps the opening rather than sitting inside it.
Allow for that overlap when you space components along an island front, or the doors will crowd each other.
Why is it called a 23-inch door if it measures 22 1/2 inches?
The 23 inches is the nominal size Alfresco lists it under. Build from the measured figures instead: 22 1/2 by 21 1/8 overall, into a 19 7/8 by 18 1/2 opening.
Can the hinge go on either side?
Yes. Left-hinge and right-hinge versions are both offered, so the door can open away from a neighboring component or a wall.
